Pastor Harrison and Family

Married to Jean, and father to Benjamin, I have been pastor of East Shore Baptist Church since April of 2002.  Prior to that I was pastor of Lake Ola Baptist Church in Mount Dora, Florida for about seven years.  In my “former life” I worked in the Real Estate Mortgage and Appraisal fields.

I have a Masters of Divinity Degree from Luther Rice Seminary, Lithonia, GA, with my degree emphasis in Ministry and Theology.  I also attended Ohio State University, Columbus, OH, where I earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, with my degree emphasis in Real Estate and Finance.

My vision for East Shore Baptist Church includes and sees our church as a place where the helpless, hopeless, the frustrated, confused and discouraged of all races and socio-economic backgrounds can find love, acceptance, guidance and encouragement.  A place where the truth – God’s truth - is shared in love and lives are set free.
The theme for my ministry is: Biblical truth and integrity, shared in dynamic and relevant ways, with love and compassion for God and all people, and with a commitment to excellence in all that we say and do.

My Purpose in ministry is: To reach the un-reached, non-churched people of our community.  To reach them with the saving message of Jesus Christ (evangelism), to teach them to live Christ-centered, abundant lives (discipleship), to encourage them through vibrant, culturally relevant worship (worship), to introduce them to and involve them in positive, relational fellowship with other Christians (fellowship), and to inspire them to participate in reaching out and touching the lives of others who are lost and without hope and those who are of the body of Christ (ministry).
I am so excited to be the pastor of this wonderful church, in this incredible community.  In this body of believers beats the heart of people who are committed to following Christ and making Him known.  It is my great joy to be a part of this ministry, building God’s Kingdom in the might and power of His marvelous grace.
“For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes—Jews first and also Gentiles.” (Romans 1:16)

Pastor of Biblical Counseling, Discipleship and Missions: Bryan Lingle

Associate Pastor Lingle and family

Married to Michelle, and the father of Faith, Elizabeth, Brandt, Morgan, Kenneth, Justin and Joseph, I have been at East Shore for eleven years and served as youth director in a part time capacity for four years. I was hired as Associate Pastor in January 2004. Before my call into ministry, I worked in the field of home construction and owned and operated a small commercial cleaning company.

I am a graduate of Lancaster Bible College with a Bachelors degree in Bible, with a focus on missions and Biblical counseling.

My visions for the role God has for me here at East Shore are very simple: teach, preach and serve Christ. I will do that in two critical areas that I see God directing me. The first is Youth 7th- 12th grades; and the second is Missions. The vision for the youth is a Christ centered one that involves focusing o Christ and the reality of Him as Lord in their lives. This is done through many ways and different events and activities. All things focus on the Bible as being god’s revealed Word for us, absolute truth, and completely relevant for our lives. With the ministry focus being the Bible and Christ, this leads directly into the missions calling that God has for me here at East Shore. By exposing as many people, young and old, as possible to the missions field, you make serving Christ a reality not only for our youth, but also for the entire Church body. It is my prayer that the vision that god has given me for this Church will raise up the next generation of men and women dedicated to serving Christ with their lives and maybe awaken a few that have been waiting in the pews to serve Christ with their lives.

The theme for my ministry is the Bible and the Christ of the Bible, and to bring that to life in everyone that God allows me to minister to and to do it in away that shows that the Bible is alive and that Christ is seeking the lost as evidenced by His sacrifice on the cross.

My purpose in ministry is to serve Christ, and in doing that, I serve the senior pastor here at East Shore as well as the body of believers that call this church their family and their church home. I am a servant and if Christ chooses to use me, it is my prayer that I will be able to say as the Apostle Paul said in 2 Timothy 4:6-7 “for I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race. I have kept the faith.

I count it a joy and a blessing to be part of the fellowship here at East Shore Baptist Church. There is no greater joy in the ministry than seeing people come to Christ and then develop into the servants that Christ desires them to be. This church body is full of committed individuals that are serving together united as a body of believers for the cause of Christ and fulfilling the great commission. What are you doing with your life?

“If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things above, not on things on the earth. For you died and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.” (Colossians 3:1-4)

Church Secretary Kathleen Massie

There was a frequently repeated saying in the TV show, The West Wing, " I serve at the pleasure of the President".  Those saying this clearly understood their being where they were was dependent on the President wanting them there.  I serve at the pleasure of the Lord and I know I am here at ESBC at this time and in this place because this is where He wants me to be.  I joined the staff in June of 2007 as the church secretary and found myself among a family of believers who have been so kind, so loving, so welcoming.  I am very blessed to be able to use my experience and talent to support the ministries of East Shore.

I have two children, a son Dave, who lives in Pittsburgh with his wife and my two perfect grandchildren and a daughter Lauren, who lives in Franklin PA.  I am married to the most wonderful man, Dale, who loves the Lord, and loves me flaws and all!  Dale and I moved to Harrisburg three years ago from Oil City PA and we have been enjoying your 'southern climate'!  Life is good, and the Lord has certainly given us many reasons to be joyful and thankful.
